It comes down to two things: a valid driving licence and a one-time KYC (Know Your Customer) verification. Here's exactly what you need, whether a learner's licence works, and how the process runs.

- A valid, full driving licence for the car class you're renting (a light motor vehicle / LMV licence covers cars).
- One government-issued photo ID for KYC — Aadhaar, PAN or passport.
- A refundable security deposit, collected at pickup (separate from your documents).
What driving licence do you need?
You need a valid Indian driving licence that covers light motor vehicles (LMV) — the category that includes cars. An Indian driving licence is valid across the whole country, so an out-of-state licence from another Indian state works fine for renting in Hyderabad; it does not have to be a Telangana licence. Just make sure it hasn't expired and the photo and details are clearly readable.
Can you rent a self-drive car with a learner's licence?
No. A learner's licence (LLR) or learner's permit is not accepted for self-drive rentals — you need a full, permanent driving licence. A learner's licence legally requires a licensed driver to sit beside you, which defeats the point of a self-drive car, so Infila (like every self-drive platform) requires the full licence before you can book.

Security deposit vs KYC — they're different
Your KYC documents and the security deposit are two separate things. KYC verifies your identity and licence once. The security deposit is a refundable amount collected at pickup and released after you return the car in good condition — it is unrelated to the documents you uploaded.
